Thierry Cerpolet is a visual artist specialized in Fine Art and documentary photography.
Inspired initially by the work of the master Italian photographer Fulvio Roiter he met in the 80’s, he developed a keen sense of observation and visual storytelling. Influenced also by Stephen Shore, Joel Meyerowitz, Harry Gruyaert he further refined his artistic vision through several workshops with renowned photographers thanks to the Leica Boutique in Montreal and the Leica Akademie USA.
Between air and matter, he combines the past and the present by witnessing to what has been, what is here today and what will certainly no longer be here tomorrow in an environment that is constantly changing.
Inspiration and imagination are the main sources of his artistic creativity, which always push him in search of visual beauty in nature or elsewhere through his ability to see things beyond the ordinary.
Through bold and mostly colored skillfully compositions, using geometry, shapes, lines and perspectives, his photographs are stirring a sense of movement in an appealing graphical mood that make his recognized artistic work awarded internationally.
Associated to the nostalgia for the passage of time, the poetry of the ephemeral, his evocative fine art imagery is not just for the contemplation but for the meditation too.
Beyond its photographic narration, his aim is to invite the viewer to explore their emotions, to rediscover memories that still resonate deeply within us, to feel the inspiration that led him to the composition and creation of the image.
His photographic quest balances these days between urban cities, Montreal where he currently lives or New York, the New England coastline he is so attracted with and the Quebec countryside, especially the Eastern Townships.

• Born in Paris (France) in the mid-50s.
• Passionate about photography since his adolescence, he met a Leica master in Fulvio Roiter by 1980 who strongly encouraged him.
• Joins Montreal in 1993 as per his professional activities in the airline industry.
• A major turning point occurred in 2006 when he undertook a professional photographic approach which allowed him to meet numerous photographers in Leica workshops and to make himself known through exhibitions and publications.
• Since 2020, he has devoted himself entirely to his visual art and participated in numerous international competitions for which he received several awards and recognitions.
• His photographic art is found in private and corporate collections .

Thierry Cerpolet est un artiste visuel spécialisé en photographie artistique et documentaire.
Inspiré initialement par le travail du grand photographe italien Fulvio Roiter rencontré dans les années 80, il a développé un sens aigu de l’observation et de la narration visuelle. Influencé également par des grands photographes tels que Stephen Shore, Joel Meyerowitz, Harry Gruyaert, il affine encore sa vision artistique à travers plusieurs ateliers avec des photographes de renom grâce à la Leica Boutique de Montréal et à la Leica Akademie USA.
Entre air et matière, il conjugue le passé et le présent en témoignant de ce qui a été, de ce qui est ici aujourd'hui et de ce qui ne sera certainement plus là demain dans un environnement en constante évolution.
Inspiration et imagination sont les principales sources de sa créativité artistique, qui le poussent toujours en recherche de beauté visuelle dans la nature ou ailleurs par sa capacité de voir les choses au-delà de l'ordinaire.
À travers de compositions savamment étudiées et souvent très colorées, utilisant la géométrie, les formes, les lignes et les perspectives, ses photographies suscitent une sensation de mouvement dans une ambiance graphique attrayante qui fait que son travail artistique est reconnu et récompensé au niveau international.
Associée à la nostalgie du temps qui passe, à la poésie de l'éphémère, son imagerie artistique évocatrice n'est pas seulement destinée à la contemplation mais aussi à la méditation.
Au-delà de sa narration photographique, son objectif est d’inviter le spectateur à explorer ses émotions, à redécouvrir des souvenirs qui résonnent encore profondément en nous, à ressentir l’inspiration qui l’a conduit à la composition et à la création de l’image.
Sa quête photographique oscille aujourd'hui entre les villes urbaines, Montréal où il réside actuellement ou New York, le littoral de la Nouvelle-Angleterre qui l'attire tant et la campagne québécoise, notamment les Cantons de l’Est.

• Né à Paris (France) au milieu des années 50
• Passionné de photographie depuis son adolescence il rencontre un maitre du Leica , Fulvio Roiter en 1980 qui l’encourage vivement.
• Joint Montréal en 1993 dans le cadre de ses activités professionnelles dans l'industrie aérienne.
• Un tournant majeur s'opère en 2006 lorsqu'il entreprend une démarche photographique professionnelle qui lui permet de rencontrer de nombreux photographes dans des ateliers Leica et de se faire connaître depuis à travers expositions et des publications.
• Depuis 2020, il se consacre entièrement à son art visuel et participe à de nombreux concours internationaux pour lesquels il reçoit plusieurs prix et reconnaissances.
• Ses œuvres photographiques se retrouvent dans des collections privées et entreprises.
